The necessity of prayer before, during, and after approaching the Word of God

I am not sure if I have made it clear yet. Therefore, I want to be clear now.

It is absolutely essential for us to pray before, during, and after we ever think of, ponder, study, or read the Word of God. This is a rule of thumb in our own lives--not just with this Bible study.

WHY IS PRAYER ESSENTIAL?
Why should we pray before, during, and after we approach the Word of God, the Holy Bible, in any way?

We are sinners. We make mistakes and tend to do the wrong thing at times. The viewpoint from which we see things is motivated by our sins and temptations of the moment. So, our view tends to get murky and cloudy. If we pray, we ask God to clear our sight and understanding and replace our sight and understanding with his. We ask him to guide us to the truth and show us the way through the Word.

PRAY ABOUT PRAYER
We should even ask God to tell us how to pray and what to pray.

If we pray about the Word of God before, during, and after, we will gain fresh perspectives or will have what we already learned cemented and confirmed.

So, whatever you do... Don't forget to pray. You will get a great deal more out of the Bible because of this act of faith. Also, you will grow a more loyal faith in the process.
